As a lifelong reader and lover of language it was always going to be about the words. If asked for just five to describe myself I'd say: integrity, creativity, imagination, perceptivity and awareness.
A professional freelance writer, ghost-writer, content creator, researcher and editor by day, my ear for language and eye of written errors and inconsistencies has allowed me to craft, shape and polish content for multiple businesses and individuals, including writers for whom English is a foreign language. I am a contributing writer to Organic NZ magazine, covering cosmetics and legislation, health and wellness, oral care and more. A children's author, and part-time poet by night, my work has featured in print and online and includes my serialised fantasy novelette, The Giant Bookworm. In 2014, following my passion for good books, I launched Bookommended, a personal book shopping service for establishments and individuals. More recently I have established Sunshine Storyworks, to offer mentoring, coaching and constructive editorial guidance to developing children's writers at any stage of a project.
Born and raised in Australia, I spent several years living and creating in the colourful, sweltering tropics of Thailand. Now settled in the wild landscape of Northland, New Zealand, I continue to craft content, polish prose and read all I can gather under the moon and sun. I am currently seeking an agent for my children’s fantasy novel, The Sword of Stars, the story of Simon Chester, who is kidnapped by pirates, whisked away to a magical archipelago, and pressganged into joining their Captain on his quest for the Sword of Stars, the key to saving their dying ship.
